Plot Synopsis

In a small town in Louisiana, a group of young mixed-martial-arts fighters deal with losing loved ones, new parenthood, and difficult families, while following their passion of competing in the cage and fighting for a chance to break free from the past. This group of friends is finding their way in the world after high-school graduation, as they struggle to make something of their lives, and each week their personal lives and choices affect their chances inside the cage. The group includes: Daniel, nicknamed "Golden Boy" because he grew up in a wealth family, who seems to have a perfect life, but it was marred forever when his first love was killed in an automobile accident several years ago; Wes, the underdog, who has a high-paying job and a six-month-old son with his on-again/off-again girlfriend, Red, but feels like he has to prove himself in every fight; Red, a nursing-school student and mother, who dreams of a bigger life elsewhere and is determined to learn to stand on her own two feet and not be dependent on anyone else; and Danger, a talented fighter, who longs for his parents to be proud of him but struggles with the fact that he doesn't feel he has achieved anything that warrants it. MTV aired a full episode as a sneak preview on Thursday night/Friday morning at 12:05am ET/PT on Friday, January 6, 2012, before showing the official season premiere the following Monday at 10pm ET/PT.
