Plot Synopsis

When the body of an American judge known for her anti-immigration views is found on the bridge connecting their cities, El Paso Detective Sonya Cross and Juarez Detective Marco Ruiz partner to catch a serial killer working both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border. Marco understands the slippery politics of Mexican law enforcement, and while his police force slowly succumbs to the pressures and demands of the cartel, he's one of the last good men in the department. He's charming, but also cunning as he will do whatever it takes to get what he needs. This does not sit well with Sonya, who has Asperger's and strictly follows rules as well as protocol. Her candid and off-putting personality fuels an unforgiving drive for truth. The case quickly pulls them into a string of murders on the border, a scene already consumed by illegal immigration, drug trafficking, violence and prostitution. THE BRIDGE was adapted from the international TV series BRON, in which a body was found on a bridge between Denmark and Sweden. THE BRIDGE returned for its 13-episode second season on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT on FX. In Season 2, Marco, reeling from the death of his son, is still dealing with corrupt cops and the demands of the cartel. Sonya meets an unexpected man with connections to her past who threatens to come between her and her boss, Lt. Wade. The case quickly pulls them all into a complex web of money laundering, police corruption, and the Juarez Drug War, which infiltrates the suburban streets of El Paso. "El Paso Times" reporters Daniel Frye and Adriana Mendez continue to follow the Millie Quintana Money House, a path that will eventually cross that of Marco and Sonya. Charlotte Millwright will have to make the impossible choice between the two worlds that have a grasp on her: the US government and the Mexican cartel. Meanwhile, Steven Linder tries to do right by his Mexican Immigrant love and ends up seeking justice the only way he knows how.

On Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT, FX debuted the Season 2 finale of THE BRIDGE. In the season ender, "Jubilex," Marco's loyalty is put to the ultimate test, while Sonya attempts to tie up loose ends.
