Plot Synopsis

Two Scottish craft-beer brewers, James Watt and Martin Dickie, travel across the United States, as they seek out local ingredients, create their own locally-inspired drafts, and brew their concoctions at iconic landmarks. In each one-hour episode, James and Martin make a unique beer in a different American city, including: San Diego, as the duo use harvest kelp and the world's hottest chili they brew while traveling 70mph on a train up the Pacific coast; Philadelphia, as James and Martin make The Most American Beer Ever Brewed -- on a float during a Fourth of July parade, while making the beer DNA digitally encoded with 328 million copies of the Declaration of Independence; San Francisco, as the guys make the world's first vaporized beer; Seattle, as the pair brews the world's most-caffeinated beer on the top deck of the Bainbridge Island Ferry; Denver, as the guys brew a solar-powered, cactus-infused, meat pale ale at 14,000 feet; Portland, as the duo create a fresh-hopped, blackberry-infused Berlinerweisse while floating on a beer-keg raft down the Willamette River; and Boston, as James and Martin, along with Sam Adams' proprietor and legendary craft beer entrepreneur Jim Koch, brew a Boston Clambake beer, infused with lobsters and clams and brewed on a tall ship sailing through Boston Harbor. BREW DOGS returned for its second season on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at 9pm ET/PT on Esquire Network. In Season 2, James and Martin visit: Durham, NC, where they brew the most caloric beer ever, a Maple Bacon Ice Cream Stout; Chicago, where they enlist the aid of engineer David Donley to build a wind-powered brew system to create the "greenest" beer ever for St. Patrick's Day; Las Vegas, where they melt down gold and shave truffles to brew the most expensive beer ever; Los Angeles, where they compete against local home brewers to successfully design their own brew, sourcing local ingredients; Maui, where they use sugarcane and toasted coconut to brew a Hot Lava Rock beer based on the lifestyle and history of the island; New Orleans, where they turn to swamp fruit and a voodoo priestess to create a revival beer on a mobile brewery on the back of a fan boat; Alaska, where they brew a survivalist beer with glacier water, spruce tips, winterberries, and a few old airplane parts; Colorado, where they use primitive equipment they built themselves to brew a modern take on an ancient beer; Delaware, where they brew an all-new beer in the back of a truck racing around the Monster Mile, the world's fastest one-mile oval; and NorCal, where they travel in an RV and make impromptu craft pairings with campfire food. On Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 10pm ET/PT, Esquire premiered the third season of BREW DOGS. In the new season James and Martin are taking it global to celebrate distinctive craft beers by creating locally-inspired draft in major cities throughout the world. The brewing anarchists take over the following meccas across the globe: Aberdeen, Scotland; Brooklyn, NY; Louisville, KY; Michigan; Berlin, Germany; Belgium; Vancouver, Canada; Baja, Mexico; Nashville, TN and Miami, FL.

On Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 10pm ET/PT, Esquire premiered the Season 3 finale of BREW DOGS. In the season ender, "Baja, Mexico," James and Martin head south of the border to experience the adventurous side of the Baja Peninsula. In the spirit of the Baja 1000, the wildest, most outrageous off-road race on the planet, the guys brew an equally outrageous beer, using sea urchin and peyote skins and serving it up Michelada style.
