Plot Synopsis

Now signed to the Music World Music label, British music group From Above travels to Houston to try to take the group to the next level. Ashley, Daisy, Seyi, Chelsey and Monique are all in their early twenties, and have had various roles in the entertainment business to date. Now, Mathew Knowles, the CEO of their new label and a man who knows a thing or two about turning girl groups into gold, puts the group through his trademark boot camp of hardcore physical, vocal, media and choreography training to emphasize the philosophy that made global superstars of his proteges Destiny's Child: work, work and more hard work. But there's a twist. When the girls get to Houston, they quickly learn that there are two new girls, Jasmine and Brandy, living in the house with them and they are now all in competition for a spot in From Above. The pressure mounts as the girls are put through their paces by famed choreographers Danielle Polanco and Frank Gaston, as well as musical director Tom McKinney and fitness instructor Rozelle Jones. And as Knowles remains very hands-on, especially when it comes to team-building and trust exercises, the studio beckons as the group start to develop their "sound." This series features the following seven women: Ashley Shaw, who was bullied by her classmates growing up in Sheffield and found solace in pop music sung by artists like Beyonce; Daisy Evans, an avid singer and dancer from Essex, who was a member of the British pop group S-Club 8 from the age of 11 to 14; Seyi Joshua, who joined the London Community Gospel Choir, through which she performed around the world, including a four-week tour of Japan; Chelsey Reynolds, who was enrolled in Janice Sutton's School of Dance at age four and was performing at the London Palladium at age 10; Monique Robert, a 23-year-old, who was a late bloomer when it came to singing and dancing compared to her group mates; Brandy Shanice, who loves many genres of music -- Hip Hop, R&B, Pop, Gospel, Alternative Rock, Reggie, Jazz and Blues; and Jasmine Campbell, singing since age 3 and writing songs since age 10, who has always known that singing, writing and performing is her passion. TeenNick aired the U.S. premiere of this series on Monday, June 25, 2012 at 8:30pm ET.
