Plot Synopsis

Hosted and narrated by Sir David Attenborough, BLUE PLANET II takes viewers on a revelatory and magical journey into the trippy mesmerizing world of the Earth's oceans -- the most undiscovered place on our planet. By using cutting-edge breakthroughs in science and technology to explore this final frontier, the series reveals the astonishing characters, otherworldly places and extraordinary new animal behaviors. Warm and compelling stories about marine habitats and their characterful inhabitants will build people's emotional relationship with our oceans and bring a new perspective to this little-known world. BBB America presented the 90-minute U.S. premiere of BLUE PLANET II on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 9pm ET/PT, with a simulcast on AMC, WE tv, SundanceTV, and IFC.
On Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 9-10pm ET/PT, BBC America premiered BLUE PLANET II's one-hour "Making Of" special. This series has explored parts of the ocean that have never been visited, encountered extraordinary animals and discovered new insights into life beneath the waves. Now, Sir David Attenborough goes behind the scenes to reveal how film crews traveled around the globe -- including the frigid waters of the Antarctic and to depths of 1,000 meters -- to film previously unseen animal behaviors.
