Plot Synopsis

Developed by Connie Orlando and Jason Samuels, BLACK + ICONIC is a four-part documentary series that celebrates Black cultural icons, pioneers, and activists and their impact, influence and legacies in fashion, music, film, and dance. The series examines of the momentous achievements of Black people across various fields while celebrating the power of Black cultural innovators. The four films include:

"Style Gods" (Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 8pm ET/PT on BET, BET Her VH1); Directed by Lynne Robinson and narrated by Billy Porter, "Style Gods" is a 125-minute film that celebrates the cultural impact of Black fashion pioneers and activists -- from Dapper Dan and Beverly Johnson to Beyonce, Rihanna and Michelle Obama -- who changed the style game by blazing a trail from the streets to runways around the world.
