Plot Synopsis

Set in modern-day England, Bedlam Heights is a pre-Victorian lunatic asylum that Warren Bettany is converting into an apartment building and trying to sell. In Season 1, his daughter Kate lives with flatmates Molly and Ryan, and Kate's cousin Jed, who has a history of mental illness, comes to visit. When Jed arrives, the former asylum spirits come back to claim what they believe to be theirs and seek revenge on those who have wronged them. Gradually, Jed uncovers the terrifying secrets held in the building while trying to retain his sanity. In Season 2, Warren attempts to gloss over the complex's past troubles with sexy and self-assured new sales manager Dan, but Kate decides she can't stand by and watch any longer. Meanwhile, Ellie Flint is brought to Bedlam Heights by her disturbing visions, and she discovers more questions than answers. When Ellie stays behind to learn more about the building's secrets, she and ghost-hunting blogger Max, who writes Bedlam Watch, try to survive while helping Bedlam's residents.
