Plot Synopsis

Young wildlife scientist and explorer Pat Spain goes to extremes to separate fact from fiction as he travels the globe in search of mythical creatures. In each one-hour episode, Spain scouts the bizarre and brings the latest technology to search for a scientific explanation for the seemingly outlandish stories that local tribes and residents swear are truth. These mythical creatures include: Orang Pendek, the Man Ape of Sumatra that lives in the jungles of an Indonesian island; Mapinguari, a massive one-eyed monster with slashing claws, savage howl, noxious stench and gaping mouth that lurks in the Brazilian Amazon; Mokele-mbembe, an animal with a long, thin neck and a body the size of an elephant that seems to resemble a sauropod dinosaur that lives near Pygmy tribes in Africa; Cadborosaurus, the Sea Serpent of the North, which is one of the world's most legendary monsters living off the coast of British Columbia.
