Plot Synopsis

This reality series follows a group of women who each have a connection with an NBA player, showing what it takes to live in La La Land, juggle their relationships, infidelity issues, children and friendships while trying to find the perfect balance between supporting their families and realizing their own career ambitions. For the most part, these women live the life with the best cars, biggest mansions and hottest bling but living the high life is not all glamour and often there is a price to pay. These women are: Kimsha Artest, the self-described 'partner' of Ron Artest and mother of three, is not a fan of living in Los Angeles and has refused to resign herself to the LA "party" lifestyle; Jackie Christie, the wife of retired player Doug Christie, Jackie claims to have the strongest marriage in basketball; Gloria Govan, the fiancee of LA's Matt Barnes, may be fairly new to the West Coast, but not to viewers of BASKETBALL WIVES; Laura Govan, sister to Gloria and ex-fiancee of Gilbert Arenas, is rebuilding her life with just her kids and brand new baby to keep her company; Draya Michele, a model, aspiring actress and former girlfriend of singer Chris Brown, has a history of dating NBA players; Malaysia Pargo, the wife of Chicago's Jannero Pargo, grew up in Compton, California before meeting her husband at 22; and Imani Showalter, a former singer with a New York girl group and ex-fiancee to Stephen Jackson, wants to find her passion. Season 2 began nearly one year after the heated Season 1 Reunion Show. Showalter and Artest left the show after the first season, but the program welcomed new cast member Brooke Bailey, who is best known for her relationship with NBA player Rashard Lewis. Immediately following an all-day marathon (11am-8pm ET/PT) of encore episodes, BASKETBALL WIVES LA returned for its third season on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 8pm ET/PT on VH1. Three ladies -- Jackie, Draya and Malaysia -- returned for another season and welcomed three newcomers: Sundy Carter; Brittish Williams, the fiance of European league basketball player Lorenzo Gordon; and Brandi Maxiell, the wife of power forward Jason Maxiell. Season 3 began with a surprising revelation, and an ongoing love triangle with one of the cast members is exposed, causing major turmoil in the group and forcing the three new ladies to take sides. On Sunday, July 12, 2015 at 9pm ET/PT, VH1 premiered the fourth season of BASKETBALL WIVES LA. Returning from last season are Draya Michele, Malaysia Pargo, Brandi Maxiell, and Jackie Christie. With Shaunie O'Neal joining the LA crew, and the addition of three new ladies, the bar is set for a very exciting season. Jackie brings in friend and basketball girlfriend, Mehgan James. Also joining the clique are wife of player Eddy Curry and Malaysia's friend, Patrice Curry, and Draya's friend, fashion designer and ex- girlfriend of Tyreke Evens, Angel Brinks. Between the new personalities, major life challenges, and old resentments, sparks will fly. Brandi, now living alone in LA, struggles to deal with husband Jason Maxiell's infidelity. Recently separated from Janerro Pargo, Malaysia is challenged to raise her kids by herself while also dealing with a tragic death in her family. Newcomer Patrice Curry faces challenges of her own as she attempts to adopt a child who is a bi-product of her husband Eddy's alleged infidelity. Jackie begins the season on the outs with most of her friends and decides to lean on her new protege, Mehgan James, for support. But the friendship backfires when Mehgan's honesty comes into question, causing a monumental rift with the other women. Old friendships are tested like never before when Draya gets a rude awakening as some ladies start to question her loyalty. Draya struggles to maintain her friendships within the group and relies on newcomer Angel Brinks for support. Shaunie O'Neal joins the LA ladies for some West coast fun but soon realizes that they are a very challenging group. When her old time East coast buddy, Tami Roman, joins the cast, the BASKETBALL WIVES: MIAMI / LA cast divide is set in stone. Season 5 of BASKETBALL WIVES LA premiered on Sunday, July 17, 2016 at 9pm ET/PT on VH1, with Shaunie O'Neal, Tami Roman, Jackie Christie, Malaysia Pargo, Brandi Maxiell and Angel Brinks returning for a new season. They are joined by newcomers LaTosha Duffey and Angel Love. Angel girlfriend and baby mother of Washington player Dejaun Blair, moves to LA via her best friendship with Angel Brinks. With things on the rocks with her man, Love is looking to meet Brinks' new girlfriends and just have some fun. Duffey is Brandi's longtime friend whom she affectionately refers to as her "sister". Duffey is a successful club DJ who is engaged to basketball agent, Iman Shokouhizadeh. She moves to LA in hopes to "take over" the DJ scene and make a bigger name for herself. In the new season, time heals all wounds but nasty scars remain. Brandi lays low in Dallas after her blowout with Shaunie in Puerto Rico, however now she's questioning whether or not to return to Los Angeles. Jackie's husband Doug Christie is being offered a new job and for the first time ever Jackie must decide if she can manage being alone. Angel Brinks and Malaysia have lingering drama over their dress-related beef last season. Tami Roman is back in town with her boo, Reggie Youngblood with the hopes of having a baby.
