Plot Synopsis

Each episode starts with a simple premise, "A guy (or gal) walks into a bar..." Then the staff of a mystical watering hole guides one lost soul through a crossroads in his or her life, using eerie glimpses into the past, present and many possible futures. Doug Jones owns the Bar Karma where the 20,000-year-old James is the bartender and Dayna is the lone waitress. Video-game designer Will Wright created this series, which, for the first time, allowed viewers to help create characters and develop the series before it aired by utilizing the Storymaker application that was available online at current.com/studios or via its iPhone App. For example, viewers were asked to: design a futuristic office; name a band that plays at the bar; write on the Bar Karma chalkboard; help the writers develop a character called 'The Robber'; name the team of a philandering football player; and generally take part in all aspects of the show, which was shot at Ironbound Film Studios in Newark.
