Plot Synopsis

BAGGAGE BATTLES follows auction specialists as they travel the world to bid on personal property from unclaimed airport baggage. Whether they are scouting the lost-and-found at Miami International Airport or perusing Greasby's Auction House in London, these three teams search for items, like a bag of jewelry or antique books, to see if they can hit the jackpot or find a spectacular deal on merchandise for their stores. The three teams are: Billy Leroy (Billy's Antiques & Props), who first started in advertising before he found his calling as a auction hunter at age 25, after buying a $200 painting and selling it for $18,000; Mark Meyer (Nifty Thrifty), who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from the State University of New York before opening his own local store in West Babylon, NY; and Laurence & Sally Martin (Studio Antiques), a husband and wife team, who have co-owned Studio Antiques in El Segundo, CA since 1987 and have been featured as regular appraisers on A&E's STORAGE WARS. All four auction specialists returned for Season 2, which premiered with back-to-back episodes on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 8pm ET. In the new season the foursome attended regular auctions, like the Boston Estates Auction conducted by White's Auctions, as well as the usual airport auctions, competing for domestic baggage and international freight. BAGGAGE BATTLES returned for its third season on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 9pm ET/PT, as Travel Channel aired back-to-back new episodes. In the season opener, the buyers, all returning for another season, attended a cowboy auction in Northern California, where one of them found a leather belt tied to legendary cowboy Buffalo Bill. In the night's second episode, Mark traveled to a Jacksonville estate auction, where he fought for a giant Mike Tyson statue.

Travel Channel broadcast the Season 4 premiere of BAGGAGE BATTLES on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 10pm ET/PT, as the cable channel aired back-to-back new episodes. In the Season 4 opener, the four buyers were in Nashville, TN, where the Martins bid big on an old Beatles drum after leading Mark to believe it was worthless. Then, in the night's second episode, the buyers travel to Hollywood, CA, for one of the largest movie monster memorabilia auctions of all time, where Billy bids on a C-3PO replica statue and the others battle over an Alfred Hitchcock mask.
