Plot Synopsis

Using re-creations and detective narration to tell the story of a murder case, each one-hour episode of ATL HOMICIDE follows two veteran homicide detectives, David Quinn and Vince Velazquez of Atlanta PD, as they investigate the real-life murder case as if it was in real time. The series opener, "Dark Secrets," focuses on the case of Tereon Grant, a young single mother found murdered in the middle of the night. All signs point to her ex-boyfriend being the killer, but Detectives Quinn and Velazquez dig deeper into the case, uncovering a dark secret that changes everything: Tereon was the victim of a psychopathic killer preying on high class prostitutes.

On Monday, June 17, 2019 at 9pm ET/PT, TV One premiered the second season ATL HOMICIDE, with Detectives Quinn and Velazquez returning to recount their personal experiences solving cases, which include the following stories in the new season: on a hot summer night in early August, two assailants attempt to rob a man's house, who's rumored to have a great deal of cash; when an elderly man who always paid his rent on time, failed to do so, his apartment manager calls in for a welfare check; Demetrius Robbins was a stand-up husband and dedicated father, until one night when the unthinkable happened; and Jimmie Atkins was well-liked by everyone in his neighborhood, but when family and friends don't hear from him for days, suspicions arise.

Season 3 of ATL HOMICIDE premiered on Monday, January 25, 2021 at 9pm ET/PT on TV One, as Detectives Quinn and Velazquez continue to recount their past homicide investigations cases on the streets of Atlanta along their quest to put heinous murderers behind bars. Real-life interviews are paired with dramatic recreations from actors Angelo Diaz as David Quinn and Christopher Diaz as Vince Velazquez. The season opener, "Cotton Field Confession: Ladeddrick Love," spotlights the ruthless shooting death of 19-year-old Ladedderick Love, a senseless crime the detective duo recounts quite vividly. Not a stranger to street life, Love was shot one evening but succumbed to his gunshot wounds shortly after driving his pregnant girlfriend and toddler to a nearby precinct. Upon being assigned the case, Detectives Quinn and Velazquez get to work speaking to witnesses, including the victim's mother, to pull together the pieces of this fatal mystery. Ladedderick's mother tips off the detectives by telling them that her son may not have been entirely innocent and even provides a key name. Yet, when she refused to give out any more information, the detectives are left with even more puzzle pieces to find. After a four-month break, ATL HOMICIDE returned with new episodes on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 9pm ET/PT on TV One. In the summer premiere, "Inconvenient Truth: Craig Porter," Vince and Quinn are assigned to a year-old cold case murder of a man found shot to death in his car. After reviewing the case file again, a piece of original crime scene evidence surfaces, giving detectives a crucial clue to solve this murder.

ATL HOMICIDE returned for its fourth season on Monday, August 22, 2022 at 10pm ET/PT on TV One. In the season opener, "Heather Camp & Nicole Sartell," while working a homicide at an abandoned home, Quinn and Vince discover a second body hidden inside a closet. The investigation quickly leads them on the hunt for a suspect known as Murder Man.

After a 4.5-month break, ATL HOMICIDE returned with new episodes on Monday, March 13, 2023 at 10pm ET/PT on TV One. In the mid-season premiere, "Kenyon Beaty," a casual summer morning turns deadly as a man is killed in a drive-by shooting. To solve this case, Quinn and Vince must build trust with the community and key witnesses to discover the leads they need to find the killer's true motive and identity.
