Plot Synopsis

Adult civilians compete in a series of merit badge-based challenges that test their physical and mental stamina, ultimately answering the question if they're tougher than a boy scout. Hosted by ex-Army Ranger Charles Ingram, each 60-minute episode features three adults -- from a software engineer with no Scouting experience to a real-estate agent who was kicked out of the Scouts at age 7 -- who are pushed beyond their mental and physical limits. But before the adults can take on the Scouts on their own, they must prove their worth through a series of grueling challenges. Whether crossing a gorge on a commando line, finding their way alone in the woods during an orienteering challenge, or administering first aid to an injured hiker, each challenge reinforces valuable Scouting skills. As the Scouts evaluate each adult's physical endurance, strength, agility and smarts, the adults are gradually eliminated until only one man is left standing. ARE YOU TOUGHER THAN A BOY SCOUT? was filmed in the Sequoia National Forest, a national park in the southern Sierra Nevada mountains of California. The Scouts included: Trent 'Benz' Buenzli, a 16-year-old all-star player on his high school football team, who was waiting for his Eagle Scout board of review; Brenan 'Hawk' Corbin, a 17-year-old, who rose to Eagle Scout at the young age of 14 and specializes in throwing tomahawks; Denicio 'Toro' Drake-Gonzales, a 195-pound linebacker with 11 years of Scouting experience and 27 merit badges, who is more than ready to build fires, pitch tents, and shoot some firearms; Will 'Big South' Fleming, a 6'6"/230-pound 17-year-old avid hunter, who doesn't allow anyone or anything to stand in his way; Rio 'Wolf' Gifford, who earned his Wilderness merit badge twice and can build a fire anywhere, at any time, under any conditions; Kevin 'Bug Bite' Graves, a 17-year-old with 34 merit badges, who is looking to prove himself against the adults; Michael 'Hitch' Henderson, a 17-year-old Eagle Scout and captain of his high-school wrestling team, who's an expert at pioneering and lashing; Bobby 'Lash' Lefevre, a Scout with 26 merit badges, whose expertise is musket shooting, but also loves mountain climbing, sailing, auto mechanics and survival skills; Rob 'Robin Hood' Nelsen, an ace with a bow and arrow, who is one of only a few Boy Scouts in the United States to earn 132 or more merit badges; Keegan 'Yeti' Rice, the 16-year-old leader in his troop's high-adventure division, whose motto for life is "No excuses"; Garret 'Shark Fin' Rios, who is most proud of his First Aid merit badge, which has given him the confidence to step in and provide medical assistance to those in need; and Diallo 'Torpedo' Whitaker, a 17-year-old crafty prankster, who is an avid outdoorsman with a deep love for nature.
