Plot Synopsis

Based on Anne Rice's 1976 book of the same name, ANNE RICE'S INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE is a one-hour drama series that follows Louis de Pointe du Lac, Lestat de Lioncourt and Claudia's epic story of love, blood, and the perils of immortality. Chafing at the limitations of life as a black man in 1900s New Orleans, Louis finds it impossible to resist the rakish Lestat's offer of the ultimate escape: joining him as his vampire companion. But Louis's intoxicating new powers come with a violent price, and the introduction of Lestat's newest fledgling, the child vampire Claudia, soon sets them on a decades-long path of revenge and atonement.

On Sunday, September 18, 2022 at 10:05pm ET/PT, AMC premiered "Behind the Scenes," a one-hour special that takes a behind-the-scenes look at AMC's adaptation of Anne Rice's iconic novel "Interview With the Vampire," featuring interviews with the show's cast and crew.

INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE's seven-episode first season debuted on Sunday, October 2, 2022, with the 80-minute season opener premiering at 10:05pm ET/PT on AMC and the first two episodes dropping on AMC+ that same night. In the season opener, "In Throes of Increasing Wonder...," Louis de Pointe du Lac meets the vampire Lestat, and his life unravels in otherworldly ways; in 2020, Louis tells his story to journalist Daniel Molloy. Then, in the second episode, "...After the Phantoms of Your Former Self," beginning his life as a vampire, Louis learns the rules of vampirism from his maker and companion Lestat; Louis discovers increasing differences between himself and Lestat; in Dubai, Louis reveals more of his modern-day vampire lifestyle to Molloy.

On Sunday, November 6, 2022, AMC+ released "The Thing Lay Still," the season finale of INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE. This episode makes its linear television debut one week later on Sunday, November 13, 2022 on AMC at 10pm ET/PT. The vampire family plans to leave New Orleans after throwing a lavish Mardi Gras ball.

INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE was renewed for a second season on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 -- four days before the series debuted.
