Plot Synopsis

Using expert interviews, archival footage, new information and the results of in-depth research, AMERICA'S BOOK OF SECRETS reveals the truth about government agencies, famous landmarks and stealthy societies to glimpse the hidden worlds of America. This series delves into a variety of familiar but enigmatic American institutions -- from the FBI and the Pentagon to Fort Knox and Area 51. For the episode about the White House, this programs seeks answers about secret protocols, elite security and hidden history, including answers to these questions: What is the most secret room in the White House and what makes it so powerful?; What secret visitors have been to the White House -- invited or not?; What kind of background checks are needed to work at the White House?; and What security measures go into effect if the White House is under attack? On Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 9pm ET, just six days before the official series premiere, H2 aired a two-hour special about America's monuments. Season 2, which premiered on Friday, April 5, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT on H2, featured stories about: aliens visiting Earth for centuries; the secret world of the mob's success; and more.
AMERICA'S BOOK OF SECRETS returned for its third season on Saturday, March 29 2014 at 10pm ET/PT. The Season 3 premiere featured Scientology, one of the most secret organizations in America. This episode revealed the hidden origins, strict doctrine, secret language and celebrity allure of the wealthy and influential institution. Plus, former Scientologists disclose the reasons they were drawn to the church -- and why they left.
