Plot Synopsis

Featuring historical crime stories and told from the perspective of those who stepped up to protect the innocent, AMERICAN LAWMEN is a one-hour series that chronicles the birth of law enforcement in America. Each episode presents tales of the few brave citizens who strapped on a badge and gun, and placed their own lives on the line in the fight for justice. The series opener celebrates private investigator Allan Pinkerton, who is hired to protect a strategic railroad from attack, but as his investigation unfolds he uncovers a hidden conspiracy to assassinate President Lincoln. Then, the second episode chronicles the life of NYC's first Italian-American detective, Joe Petrosino, who is determined to do whatever it takes to protect his people in turn-of-the-century Little Italy.
