Plot Synopsis

Using interviews with law enforcement, prosecutors, and investor-victims, AMERICAN GREED: THE FUGITIVES tells the tales of white-collar criminals who masterminded elaborate schemes to bilk funds from duped investors, evaded capture, and are now wanted by the FBI. Season 1 chronicled the cases of the following criminals: John and Julieanne Dimitrion (pictured), now vanished from Hawaii, who convinced distressed homeowners to relinquish their homes with the premise of improving the victims' financial position -- instead multiple families in Oahu, Hawaii, lost their homes; Spiro Germenis, most recently spotted in Queens, NY, who scammed more then $8 million from 25 victims in a massive Ponzi scheme, stealing the life savings of middle-class people and senior citizens; Harold Rangel, last seen in Mexico, who took over $35 million from 600 Latino families in Los Angeles by participating in a high-yield investment and mortgage fraud conspiracy; Eric Bartoli, believed to reside in Peru, whose stole at least $65 million from 800 investors in Latin America and the United States in a Ponzi scheme through Cyprus Funds; and many more criminals on the run who are wanted by the FBI for conspiracy, securities fraud, sale of unregistered securities, wire fraud, mail fraud, money laundering, attempted income tax evasion, plus more white-collar crimes. AMERICAN GREED: THE FUGITIVES returned for its second season on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 10pm ET/PT, with an episode featuring criminals Victor and Natalia Wolf, who lived like Russian rock stars in Miami, while throwing lavish parties on yachts and driving a $325,000 Maybach, which were all financed by an alleged $20 million-dollar fraud through their real-estate development company, Sky Development.
