Plot Synopsis

Each weeknight at 9pm ET/6pm PT, Joie Chen hosts AMERICA TONIGHT, a nightly, 60-minute newsmagazine that focuses on long-form, in-depth segments about politics, healthcare, government, education, the environment, and the economy. In addition to the these feature stories, which can run as long as 12 minutes each, AMERICA TONIGHT also presents breaking news, using the global newsgathering resources of Al Jazeera Media Network's 12 U.S. bureaus and more than 70 bureaus around the world. Joining Chen are Special Correspondent Soledad O'Brien and six correspondents who will report from around America: Lori Jane Gliha, Sarah Hoye, Sheila MacVicar, Adam May, Michael Okwu, and Christof Putzel. This series premiered the same day that Al Jazeera America launched as a cable channel.
