Plot Synopsis

AMERICA DECLASSIFIED follows investigators, as they research and uncover conspiracy theories, secrets, and mysteries from locations across the United States. In the one-hour premiere episode, former CIA officer Mike Baker travels to Dallas, 50 years after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, to investigate the conspiracy theories surrounding the crime of the century, as he tries to solve the mystery: Did Lee Harvey Oswald act alone in the Texas School Book Depository? Plus, science Investigator Cara Santa Maria visits the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) in Loving, NM, where she explores the country's only underground nuclear waste dump, which houses tons of low-level radioactive waste in caverns cut into a natural salt bed more than half a mile below earth's surface. Then, Michael Stephens, the creator and host of VSAUCE, YouTube's most popular science and technology show, talks with a man who hunts down radio signals in the Quiet Zone, a location deep in the lush Allegheny Mountain Range in Green Bank, WV, where wireless electronics are strictly banned to protect the world's largest steerable radio telescope. Each subsquent 60-minute episode covers three stories, including: the mysterious disappearance of DB Cooper, as Baker investigates DB's brazen 1971 hijacking of a Boeing 727 and mid-air parachute jump with $200,000 in ransom money, which is the only unsolved airline hijacking in American history; the missing mustangs of the American West, about which Pulitzer Prize-nominated journalist Dave Philipps reveals the Bureau of Land Management is driving wild horses into a trap, while erecting barriers to hide their actions; a toxic sinkhole that's threatening to swallow an entire Louisiana town; a bunker and UFO sightings at the Denver International Airport, which filmmaker Shepard Ambellas explores; a massive top-secret data center in Bluffdale, UT, which was photographed by journalist Kashmir Hill and that many suspect is a center for the NSA to spy on US citizens; two Internet rumors that are explained during a visit to the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico; the Pensmore Mansion in the Ozark Mountains of southern Missouri, which is a 72,000-square foot structure designed to withstand earthquakes, explosions, tornado-force winds and anything short of a direct nuclear hit; a gruesome secret at Jamestown, the first permanent English settlement in the New World, where Baker investigates the meaning of a partial skull of a 14-year-old girl, which was discovered in the colony's ruins; Coral Castle, a stone structure 30 miles south of Miami, which was completed in 1951 by Latvian immigrant Edward Leedskalnin after more than 25 years of labor, including 1,100 tons of coral rock that he carved by himself, claiming to use secret construction techniques of Stonehenge and the pyramids; a nondescript apartment complex in Santa Monica, which Boston journalist Michele McPhee investigates to uncover evidence about whether the FBI was actually harboring Whitey Bulger in this safe house during his years on the run; a Cold War missile silo in a Kansas cornfield that has been transformed into a luxury survival condominium complex, on which geoscientist Ben McGee conducts a series of tests to determine just how effective the condo would be in a doomsday scenario; a daring escape from Alcatraz by three inmates in 1962, as Baker investigates the breakout and tries to determine whether the three men drowned in the waters off the island or successfully made their way to the mainland by duplicating the escape; and many more secrets and mysteries from across the United States.
