Plot Synopsis

This satirical comedy, created by "Doonesbury" writer Garry Trudeau, follows four U.S. Republican Senators, who live together in Alpha House in Washington, D.C., while facing re-election battles, looming indictments, Party pressure, and pressure to party. These four senators and roomies from the right side of aisle -- Gil John Biggs, Robert Bettencourt, Louis Laffer, and Andy Guzman -- struggle to hold onto their core values as they fight for survival among incumbent Republicans first elected in the pre-Tea Party era. On April 19, 2013, Amazon.com released the pilot of ALPHA HOUSE, seven months before the official series premiere, when Amazon released the first three episodes for free with additional episodes available via Prime Instant Video week by week.

ALPHA HOUSE returned for its second season on Friday, October 24, 2014, as Amazon released all ten Season 2 episodes on the same day. The new season finds the Senators maneuvering the hallways of Capitol Hill with a looming midterm election and an unclear political future. Republican Senators Biggs, Bettencourt and Laffer, having survived bruising primaries, are facing strong Democratic challengers and will use every trick in the book to woo voters on the road to re-election. Meanwhile, Senator Guzman prepares for a 2016 bid for the presidency, a pursuit that will bring him into possible competition with one of his roommates. Season 2 guest stars include Bill Murray, Penn Jillette, Andy Cohen, Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Former Presidential Advisor David Axelrod, U.S. Senators John McCain and Elizabeth Warren, Janel Moloney, Marylouise Burke, Tony Plana, Rachel Maddo, Former Democratic Political Advisor George Stephanopoulos, Wolf Blitzer, Jake Tapper, Jane Pauley, Former Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell, John King, Andrea Mitchell, Americans for Tax Reform Founder Grover Norquist, Alex Witt, and Toure and Abby Huntsman.
