Plot Synopsis

Each Thanksgiving night since 2014, FOX has broadcast a two-hour special that celebrates America's rescue dogs, raising awareness of dog-related issues and encouraging people to adopt rescue animals. Throughout the special, celebrity guests introduce the audience to adoptable rescue dogs and honor the people who dedicate their lives to caring for animals in need. Plus, viewers are provided with information regarding adoptable animals in their local areas and have the opportunity to make donations to the Petfinder Foundation, an independent nonprofit organization that supports shelters and rescue groups nationwide. The inaugural event, known as FOX'S CAUSE FOR PAWS: AN ALL-STAR DOG SPECTACULAR and hosted by Jane Lynch and executive producer Hilary Swank, was broadcast on Thursday, November 27, 2014 from 8-10pm ET/PT on FOX, only five days after it was taped at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, CA. The event featured these celebrity participants: Paula Abdul, Kristen Bell, Josh Duhamel, Fergie, Carrie Ann Inaba, Scarlett Johansson, Kesha, Miranda Lambert, LeAnn Rimes, Betty White, Kristin Chenoweth, Whitney Cummings, Max Greenfield, Kathy Griffin, Julianne Hough, Randy Jackson, Cesar Millan, Jerry O'Connell, Kelly Osbourne, Sharon Osbourne, P!nk, Amber Riley, Rebecca Romijn, Emmy Rossum and Jenna Dewan Tatum. Also appearing were famous rescue canines The Olate Dogs, who participated in an exclusive performance honoring all rescue dogs in need of adoption.

On Thursday, November 26, 2015 from 8-10pm ET/PT, FOX premiered THE ALL-STAR DOG RESCUE CELEBRATION, hosted by Kaley Cuoco. The event, which was taped five days earlier at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, CA, featured celebrity guests Stevie Wonder, Zachary Levi, Andy Cohen, Randy Jackson, Dwight Yoakam, Ross Matthews, Linda Blair, Wendie Malick, Miley Cyrus, Chelsea Handler, Paula Abdul, Carrie Ann Inaba, Cesar Millan, Florida Georgia Line, Kathy Griffin, Scarlett Johansson, Whitney Cummings, Olivia Munn, Emmy Rossum, Sia and Zendaya. Country music icon Emmylou Harris and rescue organizations Fences for Fido, Dogs on Deployment and Wings of Rescue were honored for their work with rescue dogs. Plus, Eugene Bostick and Michael Schoepf were honored as ordinary citizens doing extraordinary things to better the lives of rescue animals.
