Plot Synopsis

More than 400 vessels race to fish Cook Inlet during Alaskan salmon season, and this reality series follows captains and their crews, as they battle the elements, mechanical problems and each other. Season 1 included Captain Gavin, a rookie on the North Crow, can often be seen observing his radar to find the best salmon fishing locations, and at least once this season he and his crew catch so many fish that there's no more room on his boat -- but one time he does make the rookie mistake of grounding his boat on a sandbar. He was joined by Dan Anderson, the captain of the Paragon, makes an annual trek from Wisconsin to fish with his green crew (Dan, Carl, Alex), and he's willing to fish the edges of the legal area, often providing him a nice haul. Finally, Captain Wes, onboard the Night's Edge, and his crew (Bonnie, Tia and Renny) start the season badly with a burst hydraulic line, but they recover quickly enough that Wes later makes a risky move of leaving a hot spot to offload their catch.
ALASKA FISH WARS returned for its second season on Monday, January 13, 2014 at 10pm ET on Nat Geo Wild. Captains Wes and Gavin were back for another run, and they were joined by two new captains: Dino Sutherland of the Night Hawk and Taylor Evenson of the Nedra E.
