Plot Synopsis

William Shatner takes an in-depth look at people who were tragically or infamously transformed from unknown citizens into household names -- years after their first front-page headlines. Each one-hour episode highlights one person, including: Bernhard Goetz ("The Subway Vigilante"); Jessica Lynch; the DC Sniper; the Unabomber; Mary Kay Letourneau; and the Weaver Family of Ruby Ridge. Shatner interviews the person and others who were involved in the case -- victims, family members and law enforcement officials -- to tell the real story, and in the process he uncovers surprising new information and shows how these people's lives have been forever changed. Just days before the official series premiere, on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 10pm, A&E aired a one-hour special with DC sniper Lee Boyd Malvo.
