Plot Synopsis

Based on Stephen King's novel of the same name and executive produced by King and J.J. Abrams, 11.22.63 is an eight-part event series that follows recently divorced high school English teacher Jake Epping, who is presented with the unthinkable mission of traveling back in time to identify and stop the assassin (or assassins) of John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963. Al Templeton, a time traveler pioneer and owner of Al's Diner, makes an appeal to save Kennedy, sending Jake back on his incredible mission, where he is willing to live in the past to solve perhaps the greatest mystery of the 20th century -- who killed JFK, and could it have been stopped? As Jake tries to rewrite history, his mission is threatened by Lee Harvey Oswald and he discovers that the past does not want to be changed and will do anything to stop him. Along the way, Sadie Dunhill, the librarian in 1960s Jodie, Texas, falls in love with Jake, unaware of his double life, and Bill Turcotte, a young bartender from 1960s Kentucky, becomes Jake's ally, falling deeper into the mystery of Oswald than he or Jake ever imagined. Plus, the Yellow Card Man, an enigmatic and eerie figure, appears to Jake periodically as a warning...or a threat.
