Let's Get It On: 10 TV Playboys and Their Playlists

Karen Murphy - July 30, 2009

Video_ipod_400x400

Plugged in to my favorite tunes while perusing the Internet's latest on the skirt-chasing antics of politico Mark Sanford and paparazzi fav Jon Gosselin got me wondering: What do the infamous womanizers out in TV land have on their playlists?

Imagine if these 10 small-screen players were handed an MP3 player. Which songs would be among these playboys' preferred downloads? (All songs have links to last.fm so you can enjoy them and judge for yourself.)

Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli (Happy Days)

A man of the '50s, "The Fonz" would certainly identify with "The King" and "The Killer," picking Elvis Presley's Hound Dog and Jerry Lee Lewis' Whole Lot of Shakin' Goin' On. Our leather-jacketed rebel would also give a rousing "Aaay!" and two thumbs up for the euphemistic rockabilly hit I Got A Rocket in My Pocket by Jimmy Lloyd.

Larry Dallas (Three's Company)

This used car salesman of the '70s thought he was a real lady killer and used every 'lie' in the book to get the ladies into his bed, so it shouldn't come as any surprise that Larry would select Rod Stewart's Do You Think I'm Sexy? and Marvin Gaye's Let's Get It On. He'd also download Donna Summer's Hot Stuff to get his disco groove going.

Sam Malone (Cheers)

An ex-pitcher for the Red Sox and self-admitted sex addict, Sam would choose songs that rocked the back room juke box -- Led Zeppelin's Whole Lotta Love and Bad Company's Can't Get Enough. He and Norm always sang along to Tush by ZZ Top while playing pool, so yes, it would make the cut.

Dan Fielding (Night Court)

Dan was hedonistic, narcissistic, and obsessed with sex, so Addicted to Love by Robert Palmer and Nasty by Janet Jackson would top his list. The one he sings to himself in front of the mirror, Right Said Fred's I'm Too Sexy, is the one that will wear out his search mode.

Jake Hanson (Melrose Place)

With a tough side prone to physical altercations, this resident biker would definitely have Steppenwolf's Born to Be Wild and The Rolling Stones' Street Fighting Man on his play list. In honor of the FBI-induced shake down of Palmer, Jake would also include Bad Boys by Inner Circle.

Leon Phelps, The Ladies' Man (SNL)

The self-proclaimed "Ladies' Man" took his lisping, libidinous political incorrectness to low levels on his '90s talk show and in his 2000 movie as he fixated on his favorite part of the female anatomy, so naturally his favorites would be Baby Got Back (I Like Big Butts) by Six Mix-a-Lot and Rump Shaker by Wreckx-N-Effect. To complete his fanny fetish, he'd "round" out his list with Bootie Call by All Saints.

Denny Crane (Boston Legal)

This libertine lawyer and his Don Juan habits go way back, so his eclectic mix would include My Way by Frank Sinatra and Love Machine by The Miracles. With a drink in one hand and his beloved cigar in the other, Denny would sit back and wistfully remember past conquests to the duet by Julio Iglesias and Willie Nelson -- To All the Girls I've Loved Before.

Dr. Christian Troy (Nip/Tuck)

This womanizing, self-absorbed plastic surgeon has a huge black book that would be the envy of Casanovas every where, so he'd have Calling Dr. Love by KISS and Touch Me by The Doors on his play list. His "bonus track" would be Heartbreaker by Pat Benatar.

Chuck Bass (Gossip Girl)

The neighborhood bad boy of the Upper East Side is known for seeking revenge, manipulating others, and putting himself first. Bad by Michael Jackson and SexyBack by Justin Timberlake would make Chuck's play list. Blair's sneak download of Britney Spears' Toxic would be in jest, but he wouldn't delete it.

Sam Axe (Burn Notice)

This former Navy Seal gives duel meaning to the words "undercover work" as he enjoys his covert operations and his Sugar Mommas, mojitos, and bar-hopping bikini watching in South Beach. Of course, Miami by Will Smith and Girls, Girls, Girls by Motley Crue would make the list. And, with his love of the rich divorcees, Sam's anthem would be Willie Nelson's If You've Got the Money, I've Got the Time.
