Plot Synopsis
A working-class, twice divorced hospice nurse marries into the patrician society of Virginia's landed gentry when she pursues and marries a wealthy, recent widower. When he dies unexpectedly, an autopsy reveals that his death was due to a morphine overdose and she is soon arrested. She is ultimately acquitted of his murder, although she is still awaiting the outcome of a $15 million civil suit brought against her by her stepdaughters.
