Plot Synopsis
Based on the book by Karin Cook. In rural Atlanta in 1981 two pre-pubescent sisters are forced to endure the growing pains of adolescence with their eccentric mother meets and falls in love with a man. The girls are uprooted to Long Island, NY to start a new life. Their new stepfather attempts to gain their affection but they treat him as intrusion in their lives. When Mama gets breast cancer the girls begin to build the bond of becoming a new family.
