Plot Synopsis

In a 1850s mining town, the residents are virtual slaves of a murderous mine owner and his son. A recently released convict struggles to go straight and manages to steer clear of trouble until a battered neighbor shows up on his door seeking refuge. The abused woman and the ex-con form an unlikely alliance as they are intimidated by the corrupt mine owner and ostracized by the community. They, along with the precious few who stand on the right side of the law, fight to bring the powerful tycoon to justice.
