Plot Synopsis
In 1869 Nebraska, a dying prairie woman scours the countryside in search of a new wife and mother for her homesteader husband and four children. With a shortage of single women in the territory she finally convinces a strong-willed whore to fill her shoes. The laconic sodbuster is at first cold to the idea but soon warms up when the brassy working girl turns out to have a heart of gold.
