Plot Synopsis
Based on the autobiography, ''O Rugged Land of Gold'' by Martha Martin. In the mid 1950's an affluent widow and mother to a ten year old boy marries a dashing lecturer-prospector who moves them all to the wilds of Alaska. Having to survive the brutal winter alone and pregnant, in the families rough-hewn cabin, she finds a new sense of self- sufficiency and achievement.
