Plot Synopsis

Based on the novel by Margaret Atwood. When a brilliantly scheming temptress who betrays other women by stealing that which was most important to them--money, a man, a child-- disappears it spurs suspicions from a cynical ex-cop turned insurance investigator who is friends with her boyfriend, a young cop and now the prime suspect. As he delves into her past he discovers that her former friends all had cause to want her dead but all seem to have an alibi. It soon becomes evident that she faked he own death to frame her friends and they now join forces to figure out a way to get rid of her once and for all.
