Plot Synopsis

Based on the novel by Ken Haruf. Follows a year in the life of Holt, an unremarkable small town in rural Colorado and the lives of eight very different people. Including a high school history teacher who stands up to ominous pressure to pass a failing student; two small boys whose mother is descending into depression; a shy 17-year-old pregant girl whose mother has kicked her out; and two grizzled bachelor brothers whose life revolves around their cattle.
