Plot Synopsis

When her father falls terminally ill, Jesse Brown, a wayward preacher's daughter, returns home to Atlanta after spending many years as a failed actress and exotic dancer. Her father's dying wish is that she takes over as head of the Mount Olive Baptist Church. This shocking deathbed request turns her and her family's lives upside down. Although her sister is outraged by this choice, Jesse reluctantly undertakes her father's position, thereby pitting herself against her sister and the leadership of the Church congregation, who are well aware of her sordid past. Through accepting this difficult challenge, she embarks upon a path that changes her life when she reconnects with her family and estranged teenage son, and finds the dignity and self-love she lost long ago. NOTE: This movie was made as a feature film in 2009 and had it's television premiere on Lifetime as part of Black History Month.
