Plot Synopsis

A rebellious 17 year-old manic-depressive, who after skipping her medication, is committed to a mental institution. When she becomes romantically involved with a hunky fellow patient, her psychiatrist tries to break up the liaison-- forcing the troubled lovers to escape for the Mexican border. On the way they steal cars, money and accidentally shoot a security guard. They eventually turn themselves in when they realize that living on the lam is no way of life.
