Plot Synopsis

Based on the broadway play by Meredith Wilson. A charming, fast-talking rogue waltzes in to River City, Iowa and convinces its citizens they need a boys' marching band to keep their children on the path of moral righteousness. He cons the parents into buying his expensive instruments and uniforms. But his plan goes awry when his deepening feelings for the town's lovely librarian and his attempts to scam the people run to cross-purposes.
