Plot Synopsis

On a river in the Venezuelan rainforest, a boat filled with American tourists is torn apart by unseen creatures. Jason Fitch, a US state department official, is dispatched to assess the situation and is met by a marine biologist who believes they were consumed by mutant Piranhas. The Venezuelan army is unable to stop them, as the mega feral fish are able to leap from the water and pull down helicopters and destroy battleships. Fitch and the biologist discover the Mega Piranhas are heading for the coast of Florida, doubling in size every hour. Racing against time, the US high command decides to strike with a nuclear warhead, but nothing works -- they watch helplessly as buildings are smashed and giant gaping razor toothed mouths consume people whole. Fitch has an idea that if they can make the Mega Piranhas bleed, they will feed on each other. A plan is put into action and it is only by chance that Fitch finds a way to get the Mega Piranhas to turn their hunger on one another and eat each other out of existence.
