Plot Synopsis

Journalist Mary Landers feels like she'a stuck in a rut. For several years, she'a worked for the same small, local paper and orders the same food with the same boyfriend. She desperately longs to write for the bigger paper in town The Gazette, and hopes for a marriage proposal. After she is assigned to write a Valentine'a Day story about "The Meaning of Love," her boyfriend Carl breaks up with her. Riding the crowded train home, Mary locks eyes with a handsome stranger, photojournalist James Fielding, but before they speak, he exits the train, accidentally leaving his phone behind. She attempts to return it and after learning that he'a, on assignment in the romantic city of Paris, they begin communicating. With the help of her best friend Victor, and a text-message blessing from James to write a feature story on him, she begins to discover who he really is by contacting and interviewing many of the people she finds while scrolling through the contacts and photos in his phone. Before long, she finds herself on an unexpected journey; to reinvent herself and now, more appealing to Carl, he launches an effort to win her back. But she as learns more about James she begins to fall in love with this man she will finally meet on Valentine's Day when he returns home. Mary now realizes that finding his phone has completely changed her own life and learns that love means opening your heart to any possibility, no matter how unexpected.
