Plot Synopsis

Nick Carleton is a widowed father of three coping with the murder of his beloved wife while minding his 17-year-old daughter, Alex, who is trying to help her family's life get back to normal by taking on the role of mother for her two younger siblings. Alex is determined to uncover the killer in her mother's shocking and mysterious murder. With no leads and the case growing cold, the police have no choice but to close their investigation. Not ready to give up, police detective Joseph Moran takes an unorthodox approach to try to find the killer by enlisting Alex's assistance, which may put her in harm's way. While her alliance with detective Moran is kept secret, she soon begins to search for clues that could help solve her mother's murder. As long-hidden skeletons come out of the family closet, she slowly begins to unearth something more shocking than anything she could have ever imagined, putting her own life in mortal danger.
