Plot Synopsis

John Landsburg is a seasoned, hard-edged cowboy who owns and operates the JL Ranch, a sprawling cattle ranch on the outskirts of a small Texas town. He's the fearless patriarch of a gregarious family, who lives on the ranch with his spirited grown daughters, Rebecca and Regan, and his wayward son, Brady. As the ranch falls on hard times, Rebecca encourages him to convert it into a Bed & Breakfast, while Regan suggests selling off a portion of the land. He refuses, insisting there must be another way to make ends meet. As the family searches for a solution, Rebecca's independent-minded, daughter, Lynn, returns from life in Los Angeles demanding to know the true identity of her long-lost father. When a mysterious stranger with a hidden agenda trespasses on the ranch, Lynn becomes intrigued. Meanwhile, Rebecca is romantically pursued by a handsome local sheriff while Regan and Brady each struggle with troubling secrets they're keeping. Tensions mount when the Federal Bureau of Homeland Management notifies John of their plans to seize the ranch, claiming he doesn't actually own the property. Shocked, he discovers his old rival Tap Peterson, a ruthless multimillionaire, has facilitated this plan by falsifying an official document and partnering with corrupt federal agents. As family dramas play out and age-old conflicts come to a head, he prepares for a dramatic showdown against Tap and the feds. He'll stop at nothing to save his beloved land and family.
