Plot Synopsis
Based on the play by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee. In 1925, a rural Tennessee high school science teacher is arrested for teaching Charles Darwin's Theory of Evolution to his students. Prosecuting the case is a three-time presidential nominee, self-apppointed Bible scholar and acclaimed orator Matthew Brady. Defending the teacher is Henry Drummond a self-styled agnostic and America's most celebrated defense attorney.
