Plot Synopsis

Maiko, an American college student studying in Japan, has recurring nightmares of her mother following her self-inflicted death in Japan's notorious Suicide Forest. On Halloween, two months after her mother's suicide, she joins her best friend, Amber, on a trip into the Suicide Forest to search for her mother's body and perform a ritual that will put her soul at peace. Amber's classmates, Terry and Kyle, tag along to film the journey for a documentary project. With the help of a mysterious traveler named Jin, the group ventures towards the site of Maikos mother's suicide, encountering several disturbing spiritual visions along the way. The forest continues to play tricks on the group as an ancient evil is revealed, showing that the danger of the forest is very real. To make matters worse, a group of pranksters from Maiko's college follows the crew into the forest and makes a mockery of the dead, angering the spirits. When one of them steals a watch from a corpse, the group is cursed and one thing becomes clear: Not all of them will make it out of the Suicide Forest alive.
