Plot Synopsis
Based on the novel by Elmore Kelton. In 1906, an itinerant veteran cowboy returns home to his brothers struggling farm in west Texas. Never one to settle down or be responsible, he doesn't quite mesh with is domesticated kin. A sense of duty keeps him around to help the family pay off the bank note that is shortly due. He also falls for the local schoolmarm but the call of the open range is stronger than the love of a good woman. So off he rides into the sunset.
