Plot Synopsis

Teenager Eddie Araujo struggles with his gender identity and courageously decides to live life as Gwen,the young woman she knows herself to be. Her decision causes tension and conflict within her traditional Latino family but her loving single mother, Sylvia, prevails upon the family to accept and support her son's decision. When Gwen's transgender status is disclosed at a local party, four young men brutally beat and kill her. Sylvia, outraged by the senseless murder, dedicates her life to bring the killers to justice and advocate for the rights of all transgender people.
