Plot Synopsis
Based on the book ''The Killer Department'' by Robert Cullen. In 1982, Russian forensic expert, Viktor Burakov is forced to become a detective when bodies start turning up in the woods in the rural city of Rostov-on-Don. Soviet bureaucrats refuse to believe that a serial killer exists, which hampers the investigation. With no sophisticated equipment and little government support, 8 years pass until the killer, Andrei Chikatilo, is finally caught and brought to justice for the murder and mutilation of 52 boys and young women.
