Plot Synopsis

Based on the book ''A Mother's Gift'' by Britney and Lynne Spears. A talented young singer stuck in a dead-end job in a tiny Texas town dreams of getting into a prestigious East Coast music and arts academy. With the help of her hardworking and slightly offbeat mother, she is accepted into the esteemed school but struggles with her intimidating surroundings and is plagued by self-doubt. She soon realizes she must come to terms with her past and be comfortable with who she is before she can succeed in her future.
