Plot Synopsis

Based on the novel by Anne Tyler. Since her husband's death, a middle-aged woman has single-handedly raised his ever-challenging and now adult daughters. She also inherited her husband's crotchety old uncle. As she questions how her life might have been different if she hadn't jilted her former boyfriend for her husband, she decides to contact him. Seeing her ex, who is now a divorced college professor living a structured life, only adds to her dilemma. As her family life continues to swirl around her, she begins to understand how much they rely on her and, in their own unique way, truly appreciate her.
