Plot Synopsis
Based on the novel by Colleen McCollough and 1983 miniseries. In 1943, Father Ralph, now an Archbishop, returns to the church owned Australian sheep station, Drogheda, in order to evaluate its dwindling finances. There, he rekindles his lustful feelings for Meggie, who is overseeing the ranch and who has just reunited with her estranged, brutish husband. In the course of events, they consummate their love but she ultimately understands his need to serve God.
