Plot Synopsis

Two scientists, Dr. Lehman and Imogene O'Neil, discover that the giant meteor Kassandra, which is approximately three times the size of Mt. Everest, has been knocked out of its orbit and is now barreling straight for Earth. As showers of smaller meteorites begin to lay waste to major cities around the globe they contact military scientist Dr. Chetwyn who discounts their warnings. Undeterred, they decide to drive from Mexico to the nearest US army base to plead their case. Struggling to make it across the border, they run into trouble and Imogene is forced to make the arduous trek alone and get in touch with the military and relay the coordinates and a plan to destroy Kassandra. As smaller meteors begin to pelt towns and cities, local officers try to avert the growing panic, and rush to get people into safe shelters. It soon becomes a race against time to save the planet from destruction.
